Space-Saving Mini-Split Wall Mount Installations

Ductless mini-split systems are rapidly becoming the go-to solution for heating and cooling garage conversions, home additions, and isolated rooms. While traditional central AC condensers are massive boxes that sit flat on the ground, mini-split condensers have a slim, low-profile design that opens up entirely new aesthetic installation options. The image above demonstrates one of our favorite techniques: utilizing heavy-duty steel L-brackets to mount the condenser unit directly onto the exterior brick wall, elevating it off the ground completely.

Elevating the condenser provides several massive benefits for homeowners. First and foremost, it reclaims valuable ground space in tight side-yards or patios, allowing you to walk past the unit without navigating around a bulky ground pad. Second, raising the unit safely above the turf protects the delicate aluminum cooling fins from accidental damage caused by lawnmowers, string trimmers, and curious pets. It also keeps the system out of deep snowdrifts during rare Texas winter storms, ensuring the heat pump can continue to pull latent heat from the air without restriction.

Installation using wall brackets requires structural expertise. The vibrating load of the compressor must be properly isolated so that the humming noise doesn't transfer through the brick and into the home's interior walls. Our SunDollar A/C & Heat technicians utilize thick, specialized rubber vibration dampeners between the metal bracket and the unit chassis, resulting in an installation that looks incredibly clean and operates whisper-quiet.
